Turner Ashby High School with Emily Quesenberry

Emily Quesenberry is a fiber artist/quilter and has been a high school visual arts educator for 13 years. As an artist, she works primarily with fabric and thread but also loves drawing and painting. Currently, she works at Turner Ashby High School in Rockingham County teaching Art 1, Art 2, Crafts 1, Crafts 2 and an Applied Arts class. The Applied Arts class is geared towards Special Education students and focuses on art vocabulary, working with a variety of mediums, having exploratory art making experiences, and learning how to express themselves through visual art.

Interactions of Joy

This door was created by special education students in Applied Art. The class worked together in the design process; discussing concept, formulating ideas, developing imagery and contributing with a drawing from their sketchbook or by painting directly on the door.
