Herb Weaver
Herb Weaver, an artist and art educator for four decades, strives to take art off the pedestal and into the daily lives of those who view his work. Focusing on the medium of ceramic sculpture, his artwork intends to make statements about life circumstances in a riddle-infused manner. Unveiled discovery lurks in the replication and implementation of common objects and forms, particularly when tweaked to benefit the intended message. His artistic influences are difficult to define but the belief that artists are the prophets of the day charges his works, especially regarding the expressions of peace, social justice, political dysfunction, and environmental issues. His work has been exhibited in more than 200 shows with numerous awards.
