Alexandra Thompson

Alexandra Thompson is a junior undergraduate student at James Madison University pursuing a B.F.A. in studio art with a concentration in painting and drawing. She is a recipient of the Lisanby scholarship, earned through a demonstration of excellence in both classroom work and artistic endeavors, and a capacity to make a substantive contribution to the university community. Her studio practice is influenced by her identity and experiences of living overseas, which has shaped both her background as a Russian-American and formed her art style today. Aside from this work, her art is focused on the human body and self expression, as she is inspired by the beauty of nature and our connection to it as humans.
