The Valley Mall Mural Project
CALLING YOUNG ARTISTS! The Valley Mall Mural Project, coordinated by the Arts Council of the Valley, is asking young artists to help our Mural Project Co-Directors, the amazingly talented team of Lynda Bostrom and Matt Leech, in their overall design of a large-scale mural for the Valley Mall. The mural will be 21 feet high and 60 feet in length…WOW!
Teachers, parents, and friends, please help young artists submit their work using our Submittable website. It’s fast and easy, just click HERE!
Heart of the Arts
A designated Arts & Cultural District, Harrisonburg, Virginia is home to a thriving arts community that represents a variety of different backgrounds. Our galleries glorify the dedicated work of local artists and artisans, our theaters host exciting lineups of award-winning films and performing art entertainment, and our museums capture enriching history and culture. Explore Harrisonburg and Rockingham County, Virginia in the heart of the Shenandoah Valley where artistic expression of public art, visual art, theater arts, art education, and film and video, are at the heart of everything we do.
The Arts Council of the Valley and Lurid Pictures have recently produced a video that captures this artistic spirit. The companion brochure is a reference tool for those interested in locating the arts, cultural and performance venues in this area.
Progressive Party is the Arts Council of the Valley’s annual fundraising event in Harrisonburg and Rockingham County. In 2013, this lively party opened with a cocktail reception at the home of Elizabeth and Bill Neff followed by intimate dinners at the homes of participating hosts. The night concluded with a phenomenal music performance at ACV’s Court Square Theater by the 1980s cover band, The Reflex.
The 2014 Progressive Party is planned for April 5. Tickets will be available for purchase on March 14, 2014.
