MINDS WIDE OPEN: Virginia Celebrates Women in the Arts

This March-June, the Arts Council of the Valley joins with hundreds of other artists and cultural organizations in a statewide celebration of women artists, both historical and contemporary. During this Year of Women in the Arts, the Arts Council of the Valley is committed to provide residents and visitors to Harrisonburg with the opportunity to see high quality exhibitions and performances by or about women. Join the Arts Council and its Court Square Theater in celebrating “women in the arts” by attending programs marked with “Minds Wide Open.”
Some upcoming events include:
-March 2-26, Smith House Exhibition: Rebecca Silberman, Mixed Media. Closing reception on March 26 from 5-7 p.m.
-March 5, An Evening of Art and Dance: Featuring paintings by Susan Zurbrigg and a performance by the Jane Franklin Dance Company
-March 12-14, Court Square Theater: Ampersand Arts presents Diane Son’s Stop Kiss, Friday-Saturday: 7:30 p.m., Sunday: 2:00 p.m., Tickets: $12
-March 17, Opening reception for Dalya Luttwak whose sculpture will be on display in the Smith House courtyard, 5-7 p.m.
-March 25, Court Square Theater: The Victor Mourning, 7:30 p.m., Tickets: $8-14
