Main Street • Local and regional information; Rocktown Gift Shoppe– featuring the Shenandoah Watercolor Society Art Gallery, the Valley Turnpike Museum– where children can become a museum detective, and the Harrisonburg-Rockingham Civil War Orientation Center– with interpretive film and walking tours. Ice House Studios: Yoga and Pilates | 217 S. Liberty St, Suite 201 • Visual art on display from Rhoda Miller and dance performance from Harrisonburg Dance Collective. Rhoda Miller is an artist living and working in Harrisonburg who loves texture and is inspired by nature and human interaction.

Harrisonburg Dance Cooperative is performing their second show of the 2015 season featuring nine dancers and four choreographers in three new and two restaged works. The show is open to all ages on a first-come first-serve basis with a suggested donation of $5 at the door. Performances run at 25 minutes with a question and answer session at the end. Come see the Harrisonburg Dance Cooperative on Friday, August 7 at 6pm, 7pm and 8pm at Ice House Studios.

OASIS Fine Art & Craft | 103 S Main St • The Language of God (an artist looks at creation), a show of Mike Reisenberg’s original paintings and photographs. Opening reception from 5-8pm with an artist’s talk at 6:30. Snacks provided by Mashita Food Truck.

Spitzer Art Center | 486 West Market St • New works by Susan Zurbrigg with refreshments and live music from Jeff Gorman. Open 5-8pm.

Ten Thousand Villages | 181 S Main St • Live music from Mike Simpson. Mike Simpson is a singer/songwriter who has lived in the Shenandoah Valley since the early 1970’s, playing a mix of original and old favorites on banjo and acoustic guitar.

Three Notch’d Brewing Co | Urban Exchange Building / E Market St • Morgan McDonald of Mend Clothing Company will be showing fiber weaving decor pieces and handmade apparel.

Virginia Quilt Museum | 301 S Main St • Spend some time with the Virginia Quilt Museum’s Curator, Gloria Comstock, on a guided tour of the Museum’s newest exhibits. See highlight modern and heirloom quilts from each of the four exhibits and get the “scoop” on what it takes to design and hang these works of art. Starts at 6pm.

Walkabout Outfitters | 90 N Main St • Live music from the Valley Ukulele Players at 5pm. Refreshments by Heritage Bakery.

Stroll the streets of downtown Harrisonburg the first Friday of every month and enjoy extended hours at many shops street signand businesses (5-8pm or later) while viewing art and enjoying performances by local artists, musicians, and more. Download a map here. Participating venues include:
